Interview with Murphy Daniels, an African-American alumnus of North Texas State College, concerning his remembrances about childhood and early education in Dallas, Texas; decision to enter NTSU in 1959 rather than Texas Southern University, and major in pre-med; difficulties with white professors and graduate assistants; race relations on campus; social life among black students on campus; off-campus life in "Shack Town" and support from black citizens of Denton; service in United States Air Force; studies at Southwestern Medical School and decision to pursue medical research.
